Meloxicam Polysan^® a nonsteroid anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) with anti-inflammatory, analgetic, and antipyretic effects. Meloxicam's pronounced anti-inflammatory activity has been demonstrated in all standard inflammation models.

Meloxicam's mechanism of action is based on its ability to inhibit synthesis of prostaglandins, known inflammatory mediators. It is a moderately selective COX-2 inhibitor, with more selective inhibition of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) than cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1).
